قال الناطق الإعلامي باسم مديرية الأمن العام إنّ مجموعات الدفاع المدني والشرطة تعاملت عصر اليوم مع حادث مرور بين حافلة ركوب متوسطة ومركبة أخرى على الطريق الصحراوي بمنطقة السلطاني .

وأضاف أنه نتج عن الحادث وفاة خمسة أشخاص وإصابة 17 شخصا آخرين، حيث تم تقديم الإسعافات الأولية اللازمة للمصابين ونقلهم للمستشفى وجميعهم قيد العلاج فيما جرى كذلك إخلاء الوفيات ، وتم فتح تحقيق مروري للوقوف على الأسباب التي أدت لوقوع الحادث.
