قال وزير الدفاع السعودي الأمير خالد بن سلمان إن المملكة "ستقف دائما مع العراق لدعم أمنه واستقراره وتنميته وازدهاره"، مؤكدا مواصلة التنسيق والتعاون بين البلدين بما يخدم مصالحهما المشتركة ويعزز أمن المنطقة واستقرارها.

وجاءت تصريحات الأمير خالد بن سلمان خلال استقباله في الرياض مدير مكتب القائد العام للقوات المسلحة العراقية الفريق الأول الركن عبدالأمير الشمري.

وبحث الجانبان العلاقات السعودية العراقية في المجالين العسكري والدفاعي، إلى جانب التطورات الإقليمية، وأكدا أهمية استمرار التنسيق والتعاون بين البلدين.
