واشنطن ترسل حاملة طائرات إلى الشرق الأوسط

تعتزم الولايات المتحدة إرسال حاملة الطائرات "جورج واشنطن" إلى الشرق الأوسط لتحل محل حاملة الطائرات "أبراهام لينكولن" التي شاركت في العمليات العسكرية ضد إيران، وفق ما أوردت صحيفة "وول ستريت جورنال" الخميس.

وبحسب "واشنطن بوست"، فقد خسر الجيش الأميركي نحو 45 طائرة مسيرة من طراز "إم كيو-9 ريبر" خلال الحرب مع إيران، أي ما يقارب 25% من أسطوله من هذا الطراز.

وقال وزير الدفاع الأميركي بيت هيغسيث إن الولايات المتحدة قادرة على مواصلة الحصار البحري على الموانئ الإيرانية "طالما اقتضت الحاجة"، في ظل استمرار الضغوط العسكرية والاقتصادية على طهران.
