تعاقد أستون فيلا الإنجليزي مع لاعب الوسط البرازيلي جواو جوميز قادما من ولفرهامبتون الهابط إلى دوري المستوى الثاني (تشامبيونشيب) في صفقة قدرت قيمتها بنحو 38 مليون جنيه إسترليني (51 مليون دولار).

وفاز حامل لقب الدوري الأوروبي (يوروبا ليغ) بسباق التعاقد مع جوميز، بعد موافقة تشلسي على ضم لاعب وسط المنتخب الإنجليزي مورجان روجرز من الفريق الذي يقوده المدرب الإسباني أوناي إيمري.

وأجرى اللاعب البالغ 25 عاما الذي مثل منتخب البرازيل في 10 مباريات، أيضا مفاوضات مع أتلتيكو مدريد الإسباني، لكن فيلا أقنعه بالانضمام إليه.

وفي سجل جوميز 130 ظهورا مع ولفرهامبتون منذ انضمامه إليه قادما من فلامنقو البرازيلي سنة 2023، لكنه عجز عن المساهمة في منع هبوط الفريق من الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز الموسم الماضي.

ويأتي انتقاله إلى ملعب «فيلا بارك» .
