قدّرت المنظمة البحرية الدولية التابعة للأمم المتحدة الأربعاء، عدد البحارة الذين لا يزالون عالقين في الخليج بنحو ستة آلاف، في بيان أدانت فيه تَجَدُّد المواجهات في المنطقة ومضيق هرمز.

وقال الأمين العام للمنظمة أرسينيو دومينغير في بيان إن "هذه الهجمات لا تؤدي سوى إلى تأجيج وضعية الخوف (...) والقلق النفسي التي يعانيها أصلا نحو ستة آلاف بحّار لا يزالون عالقين على متن سفن غير قادرة على مغادرة الخليج بأمان".

ونصح مختلف الجهات المعنية بتجنّب "مرور سفنهم عبر هذا المضيق".
