قال الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب، الأربعاء، إنه أمر وزير الخزانة سكوت بيسنت بقطع جميع العلاقات التجارية مع إسبانيا، واصفا مدريد بأنها "شريك سيئ" في حلف شمال الأطلسي.

وأعرب ترامب، خلال لقائه الأمين العام للحلف مارك روته، عن استياء كبير من حلف شمال الأطلسي، قائلا "أنا غير راض عن الحلف؛ بسبب ما فعله مع غرينلاند، ولأنّه لم يرغب في مساعدتنا على مواجهة الدولة الأولى الراعية للإرهاب، وهي إيران. لقد كان غير مستعد لمساعدتنا".
