وزير الدفاع الأميركي يشدد على التزام بلاده "حلا دبلوماسيا في لبنان"

كرر وزير الدفاع الأميركي لويد أوستن السبت "التزام" الولايات المتحدة التوصل الى "حل دبلوماسي في لبنان"، وذلك خلال مباحثات هاتفية مع نظيره الإسرائيلي يسرائيل كاتس الذي أكد أن بلاده ستواصل التحرك "بحزم" ضد حزب الله.

ويأتي هذا الإعلان فيما تتصاعد الحرب بين إسرائيل والحزب، مع تنفيذ الجيش الإسرائيلي ضربات في قلب بيروت وكذلك في جنوب وشرق لبنان، ما أدى إلى مقتل العشرات وفق السلطات اللبنانية.

وقال متحدث باسم وزارة الدفاع الأميركية (البنتاغون) إن أوستن "جدد التأكيد على التزام الولايات المتحدة حلا دبلوماسيا في لبنان يمكّن المدنيين الإسرائيليين واللبنانيين من العودة الآمنة إلى ديارهم على جانبي الحدود".

من جانبه، أكد كاتس أن إسرائيل "ستواصل التحرك بحزم"، حسبما قال المتحدث باسمه في بيان.
