فصّل ألون ماسك الذي عينه دونالد ترامب مستشارا خاصا، في صحيفة وول ستريت جورنال للمرة الأولى، مشروعه "الجذري" لإصلاح السلطات الفدرالية والذي يشمل صرف عدد كبير من الموظفين الرسميين وخفض النفقات.

وكتب الملياردير في المقال الذي يحمل أيضا توقيع رجل الأعمال فيفيك راماسوامي الذي سيرئس معه "لجنة الكفاءة الحكومية" المستحدثة، أنه يهدف إلى توفير مئات مليارات الدولارات في النفقات الحكومية فضلا عن التخلص من البيروقراطية التي تشكل "تهديدا وجوديا" للديموقراطية الأميركية.
