تشير الدلائل الى ان الفجل بلده الاصلي هوا الصين ومنه انتقل الى جميع بلدان العالم ،ينتمي الفجل الى الخضروات الورقية الجذرية ويصنف الفجل الى 36 نوعا اشهرها الفجل الاحمر والفجل الاسود.

والفجل الابيض يحظى بسمعة طيبة كونه من المقبلات وللفجل الابيض فوائد عظيمة نذكر منها
غني بالفيتامين سي المفيد بتقوية العظام والوقاية من الرشح وايضا يحتوي على مجموعة فيتامينات ب ( خصوصاً ب9، ب3، ب6)، والكاروتين.
