قال الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي الثلاثاء إن واشنطن وكييف تريدان إنهاء الحرب مع روسيا قبل الشتاء، بعد اجتماع وصفه بأنه "إيجابي" مع نظيره الأميركي دونالد ترامب على هامش الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة.

وكتب زيلينسكي عبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي "عقدت اجتماعا إيجابيا ومثمرا مع الرئيس دونالد ج. ترامب في الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة. تريد الولايات المتحدة وأوكرانيا إنهاء هذه الحرب الروسية العبثية قبل الشتاء"، مشيرا إلى أن الجانبين بحثا "خطوات محتملة لخفض التصعيد يمكن أن تمهد الطريق أمام الدبلوماسية".
