اختتم المنتخب الوطني لكرة السلة مشاركته في بطولة كأس ويليام جونز المقامة في تايبيه الصينية، بحلوله في المركز السادس، بعد خسارته اليوم الجمعة أمام فريق سترونج جروب أثلتيكس الفلبيني بنتيجة 91-96.

وقدم المنتخب الوطني أداءً تنافسياً خلال المباراة، التي جاءت في ختام مشاركته بالبطولة، التي شكلت محطة تحضيرية مهمة للمنتخب استعداداً للاستحقاقات المقبلة.

وبهذه النتيجة، أنهى المنتخب الوطني مشاركته في البطولة بالمركز السادس، ضمن منافسات كأس ويليام جونز التي شهدت مشاركة عدد من المنتخبات والأندية.

وتأتي مشاركة المنتخب الوطني في البطولة ضمن برنامج تحضيراته للاستحقاقات المقبلة، وفي مقدمتها دورة الألعاب الآسيوية المقررة في مدينة ناغويا اليابانية خلال أيلول المقبل.
