ضرب زلزال بقوة 6.9 درجة جزيرة سومطرة في غرب إندونيسيا السبت، بحسب ما أفادت هيئة المسح الجيولوجي الأميركية، وذلك بعد ساعات قليلة من زلزال بقوة 7.7 درجة ضرب الدولة الواقعة في جنوب شرق آسيا.

ويقع مركز الزلزال في بيماتانغسيانتار على بعد حوالى 126 كيلومترا جنوب شرق عاصمة الجزيرة ميدان، ولم يصدر أي تحذير من حدوث تسونامي.

وأسفر الزلزال الأول الذي ضرب شرق إندونيسيا صباح السبت، عن مقتل 38 شخصا.

وسجلت وكالة الجيوفيزياء الإندونيسية الزلزال الأول في الساعة 04:58 صباحا (على عمق 15 كيلومترا، وتلاه هزات ارتدادية عدة.
