قال دونالد ترامب الاثنين إن على إيران أن تختار بين إبرام اتفاق مع الولايات المتحدة أو "استسلام كامل"، وذلك بعدما نفت طهران إجراء أي مباحثات مع واشنطن، إثر إعلان الرئيس الأميركي أن المفاوضات ستستأنف اليوم.

وفي منشور على منصته تروث سوشال، وصف ترامب الجمهورية الإسلامية بأنها "مخادعة" لأنها "تعلن جهارا وبفخر" أنها لا تتفاوض، مضيفا "سواء أرادت إيران الاعتراف بذلك أم لا، فإننا في الواقع نتحدث عن حلٍّ لمشكلة تسببوا فيها منذ عقود". وذكّر ترامب بالحصار البحري الذي يفرضه على الجمهورية الإسلامية، لافتا الى أنه لن يُرفع ما "لم يتحقق اتفاق أو استسلام كامل".
