قالت الشرطة الكينية إنّ 5 من أفراد الأمن قتلوا باشتباك مع مسلحين يُشتبه بانتمائهم إلى حركة الشباب في مقاطعة مانديرا بالقرب من الحدود الصومالية.

وتخوض الجماعة المسلحة منذ سنوات معارك للإطاحة بالحكومة المركزية في الصومال وإقامة حكمها في البلد الواقع في القرن الإفريقي.

وقالت الشرطة في تقرير لها عقب الاشتباك الذي وقع ظهيرة أمس الثلاثاء تقريبا "اشتبك فريق دورية في ألونجو مع مسلحين من حركة الشباب في المنطقة المحيطة بسد وانتي".

وأضافت الشرطة أنها تواصل مطاردة المسلحين بعد أن استهدف جهاز ناسف فريق تعزيزات أُرسل إلى المنطقة مما أدى إلى تدمير مركبة مدرعة، دون ورود تقارير عن إصابات.
