قال الناطق الإعلامي باسم مديرية الأمن العام إن فرق الإطفاء والإسعاف في مديرية دفاع مدني العقبة تعاملت اليوم مع حريق شب داخل منزل في منطقة الشلالة بمحافظة العقبة.

ونتج عن الحريق وفاة سيدة وإصابة طفليها إثر استنشاقهما الأدخنة المتصاعدة من الحريق، حيث عملت فرق الإطفاء على إخماد الحريق والسيطرة عليه، فيما تولت فرق الإسعاف إخلاء الوفاة وإسعاف الطفلين ونقلهم إلى المستشفى، وهما قيد العلاج، وتم فتح تحقيق للوقوف على أسباب الحريق.
