غوتيريش يدعو لتمويل عاجل للاونروا

دعا أمين عام الأمم المتحدة انطونيو غوتيريش، الدول الأعضاء إلى تقديم تمويل عاجل لوكالة الأمم المتحدة لإغاثة وتشغيل اللاجئين الفلسطينيين "الأونروا"، محذرا من أن عجزا ماليا قدره 100 مليون دولار يهدد استمرار خدماتها لنحو 2.6 مليون لاجئ فلسطيني.

وأكد غوتيريش أمام اللجنة المخصصة للجمعية العامة للإعلان عن التبرعات الطوعية للأونروا، أن "الوكالة تمثل عنصرا أساسيا للاستقرار في المنطقة، ولا يمكن لأي منظمة أخرى أن تحل محلها".

وأشار إلى تدهور الأوضاع الإنسانية في غزة واستمرار الضغوط على اللاجئين الفلسطينيين بمختلف مناطق عمليات "الأونروا"، داعيا إلى توفير الدعم المالي الفوري لضمان استمرار عملها.
