أطلقت مديريتا شرطة ودفاع مدني عجلون والشرطة المجتمعية، مبادرة " عجلون تستحق الحماية"من موقع تلفريك عجلون السياحي، بهدف تعزيز ثقافة الوعي المجتمعي بالسلامة العامة والوقاية من الحوادث، خلال الموسم السياحي والتنزه في المحافظة.

واشتملت المبادرة على فحوصات طبية واستشارات مجانية،ضغط سكري لزوار التلفريك والمواطنين، بهدف الاطمئنان على الصحة العامة، وتوزيع نشرات توعوية حول الوقاية من حوادث الغرق في السدود والبرك، ومخاطر حرائق الأعشاب والمحاصيل الزراعية خلال فصل الصيف، وطرق التعامل الآمن مع مصادر النار،والتعريف برقم الطوارىء الموحد 911.
