عُلّقت مباراة فرنسا والعراق في الجولة الثانية من منافسات المجموعة التاسعة ضمن مونديال أميركا الشمالية عند نهاية الشوط الأول الاثنين، بسبب تحذير من أحوال جوية قاسية، حيث طُلب من الجماهير الاحتماء مع اقتراب عاصفة رعدية.

وقالت مسؤولة في الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا) إن المباراة التي تقام في فيلادلفيا، وانطلقت عند الساعة 21:00 ت غ، ستتأخر لمدة لا تقل عن نصف ساعة، بما في ذلك استراحة ما بين الشوطين المقررة (15 دقيقة).

وكانت فرنسا متقدمة 1-0 مع نهاية الشوط الأول بفضل هدف لقائدها نجم ريال مدريد الاسباني كيليان مبابي في الدقيقة 14.
