اقترب المنتخب المغربي، رابع النسخة الاخيرة، من دور الـ32 بفوزه المستحق على اسكتلندا 1-0 الجمعة على ملعب جيليت في فوكسبورو بضواحي بوسطن، في الجولة الثانية من منافسات المجموعة الثالثة ضمن مونديال أميركا الشمالية لكرة القدم.

وسجل اسماعيل صيباري هدف المباراة الوحيد في الدقيقة الثانية مانحا منتخب بلاده فوزه الاول في النسخة الحالية، بعد تعادله مع البرازيل 1-1 في الجولة الأولى.

وانتزع المغرب صدارة المجموعة من اسكتلندا بعدما رفع رصيده الى أربع نقاط بفارق نقطة واحدة أمام الأخيرة بانتظار مباراة البرازيل وهايتي لاحقا في فيلادلفيا.
