اكتفى المنتخبان التشيكي والجنوب إفريقي بالتعادل 1-1، الخميس، في أولى مباريات الجولة الثانية من دور المجموعات، ما يصعّب مهمتهما في التأهل إلى دور الـ32 من نهائيات كأس العالم لكرة القدم 2026.

على ملعب مرسيدس-بنز في أتلانتا، تقدّم المنتخب التشيكي عبر ميخال ساديليك (6) حتى قبل سبع دقائق من نهاية الوقت الأصلي حين أدرك تيبوهو موكوينا التعادل من ركلة جزاء (83).

ودخل المنتخبان المباراة على وقع خسارتيهما في الجولة الأولى (تشيكيا أمام كوريا الجنوبية 1-2 وجنوب إفريقيا أمام المكسيك 0-2)، وبالتالي كسبا نقطتهما الاولى قبل لقاء المنافسيَن الآخرَين في وقت لاحق.
