دعت مديرية الأمن العام المواطنين إلى الالتزام بإجراءات الوقاية للحد من حرائق الأعشاب والغابات، خاصة مع ارتفاع درجات الحرارة خلال فصل الصيف.

وأشارت إلى أن كوادر الدفاع المدني تعاملت منذ الأول من أيار ولغاية العاشر من حزيران مع (3844) حريقاً للأعشاب والأشجار الحرجية والمزروعات، أتت على ما يقارب (10402) دونم.

وأكدت المديرية أن العديد من هذه الحرائق تنتج عن سلوكيات خاطئة يمكن تجنبها، داعية إلى عدم إشعال النيران أو تركها دون إخماد كامل، والإبلاغ الفوري عن أي حريق عبر رقم الطوارئ الموحد (911).
