أعلن رئيس الوزراء اللبناني نواف سلام، الخميس، أن الجيش سيبدأ الانتشار في "مناطق تجريبية" في الجنوب، بعد يوم على اتفاق بين إسرائيل ولبنان في واشنطن على تطبيق وقف لإطلاق النار.

وقال سلام في كلمة تلاها وزير الإعلام بول مرقص، إن "الخطوة المقبلة عملية وملموسة: انتشار الجيش اللبناني في مناطق تجريبية كمرحلة أولى، وهو ما لا يسقط حقّنا بالانسحاب الكامل، بل يقربنا منه".

وجاء في بيان مشترك صدر بعد محادثات واشنطن التي يرفضها حزب الله أن إسرائيل ولبنان اتفقا على إنشاء "مناطق تجريبية" في الجنوب يتولى الجيش اللبناني السيطرة "الحصرية عليها مع استبعاد جميع الجهات الفاعلة غير الحكومية".
