الصحة العالمية: تراجع الإصابة بفيروس إيبولا

أعلنت منظمة الصحة العالمية تسجيل تراجع كبير في عدد الحالات المشتبه بإصابتها بفيروس إيبولا في جمهورية الكونغو الديموقراطية، بعد أسابيع من القلق المتزايد بشأن اتساع نطاق التفشي داخل البلاد وخارج حدودها.

ووفقا لـ (يورو نيوز)، قال المتحدث باسم المنظمة كريستيان ليندماير، اليوم الثلاثاء، إن عدد الحالات المشتبه بها انخفض بشكل كبير، موضحاً أنه حتى 31 أيار جرى تسجيل 116 حالة مشتبه بها في جمهورية الكونغو الديموقراطية، مقارنة بـ 906 حالات أُبلغ عنها في نهاية الأسبوع الماضي.

وأوضح ليندماير أن بعض الحالات المشتبه بها ثبتت إصابتها بالفيروس بعد إجراء الفحوص اللازمة، بينما جرى استبعاد عدد كبير من الحالات الأخرى بعد التأكد من إصابة أصحابها بأمراض مختلفة تتشابه أعراضها الأولية مع أعراض إيبولا، مثل الملاريا أو التهاب السحايا أو حالات حمى غير مرتبطة بإيبولا.
