أكدت المؤسسة العامة للغذاء والدواء على أن الأسس الخاصة بمنتجات التبغ والنيكوتين بما فيها الإلكترونية لسنة 2019، تحظر بيع أي من منتجات التبغ والنيكوتين لمن يقل عمره عن تسعة عشر عامًا.

وأضافت، أنه يحظر بيع السجائر لمن يقل عمره عن ثمانية عشر عامًا، كما يحظر بيع السجائر بالتجزئة، وصنع أو استيراد أو توزيع أو بيع مقلدات منتجات التبغ بما فيها الحلوى والكعك والألعاب والأدوات المصنعة بشكل يشابه أيًا من منتجات التبغ، وفقًا لقانون الصحة العامة رقم (47) لسنة 2008 وتعديلاته.

وشددت المؤسسة على المسؤولية المشتركة لمكافحة مخاطر التدخين، حفاظًا على الصحة العامة وحماية المجتمع، وصولًا إلى مجتمع صحي خالٍ من التدخين.
