حقق سعر الذهب مستوى قياسيا الأحد مع تجاوز الأونصة عتبة الخمسة آلاف دولار، وسط تصاعد حالة عدم اليقين الناجمة عن سياسات الرئيس الاميركي دونالد ترامب.

وبلغ سعر الذهب 5,026 دولارا للأونصة في التداولات، فيما كان سعر الفضة قد وصل إلى 100 دولار الجمعة للمرة الأولى في تاريخه.

وفي حين أن الاضطرابات المتعلقة بطموحات ترامب بشأن غرينلاند والاحتياطي الفدرالي كانت أحدث أشكال الدعم للذهب، إلا أن المعدن الأصفر حقق على مدى عامين أعلى مستوياته على الإطلاق بفضل عوامل تراوح بين ضعف الدولار وقوة الطلب من البنوك المركزية وارتفاع التضخم.

وتجاوز سعر أونصة الذهب حاجز الألفي دولار في كانون الثاني/يناير 2024.
