قال الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب إنه قد يوقع اتفاقا نهائيا بشأن تيك توك الخميس، وإنه حصل على "موافقة مبدئية" من الرئيس الصيني شي جين بينغ، الذي من المتوقع أن يلتقي به في وقت لاحق من هذا الأسبوع في كوريا الجنوبية خلال جولته الآسيوية.

وأضاف ترامب "تستنزفنا كندا منذ فترة طويلة ولن يفعلوا ذلك بعد الآن... أنا لا أريد أن ألتقي برئيس الوزراء الكندي".

وجاءت تصريحات الرئيس الأميركي للصحفيين على متن طائرة الرئاسة في طريقه إلى اليابان قادما من ماليزيا.
