أمرت هيئة محلفين فدرالية أميركية الأربعاء مجموعة غوغل بدفع حوالي 425 مليون دولار تعويضات لحوالى 100 مليون من مستخدميها لجمعها، رغما عنهم، بيانات تتعلق باستخدامهم تطبيقات على هواتفهم الذكية، بحسب ما أفادت وسائل إعلام.

وخلصت هيئة المحلفين في المحكمة الفدرالية في سان فرانسيسكو إلى أنّ غوغل انتهك خصوصية هؤلاء المستخدمين الذين اختاروا في إعدادات تطبيقاتهم الهاتفية عدم السماح لمحرك البحث العملاق بتتبّع نشاطاتهم على هذه التطبيقات لكنّ الأخير واصل مع ذلك تسجيل بياناتهم.
