أفادت دراسة حديثة، نُشرت في مجلة الجمعية الطبية الأمريكية، أن التدخلات التكنولوجية قد تلعب دورا محوريا في تعزيز صحة الدماغ لدى كبار السن المعرضين للإصابة بالخرف.

الدراسة، المعروفة باسم "POINTER"، شملت أكثر من 2000 مشارك تتراوح أعمارهم بين 60 و79 عاما، خضعوا لبرنامج يركز على تعديل السلوكيات من خلال أنشطة متنوعة، تشمل ألعابا ذهنية إلكترونية، ونظاما غذائيا صحيا، وممارسة التمارين الرياضية بانتظام، إلى جانب تعزيز التفاعل الاجتماعي.

وكشفت النتائج عن تحسن ملحوظ في الوظائف المعرفية لدى جميع المشاركين، مع تسجيل أفضل النتائج بين من تلقوا تدخلات تكنولوجية مكثفة.
