انتخبت الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة، اليوم الاثنين، الألمانية أنالينا بيربوك كرئيسة للدورة الـ80 للجمعية خلفا لفليمون يانغ من الكاميرون.

وحصلت بيربوك على 167 صوتا من الدول الأعضاء وعددهم 193 عضوا، وهي أول امرأة أوروبية تتولى رئاسة الجمعية، وخامس امرأة على مستوى العالم.

وشغلت بيربوك منصب وزيرة الخارجية الألمانية من عام 2021 إلى عام 2025، حيث تبدأ الدورة في أيلول من كل عام وتنتهي في ذات الشهر في العام الذي يليه.
