أعربت منظمة الصحة العالمية الجمعة، عن بالغ قلقها من انتشار الأمراض في قطاع غزة حيث تسبب القصف الإسرائيلي المستمر منذ أسابيع في تكدس السكان في الملاجئ مع نقص شديد في الغذاء والمياه النظيفة.

وقال ريتشارد بيبركورن ممثل المنظمة في الأراضي الفلسطينية، إننا "نشعر بقلق بالغ بخصوص انتشار الأمراض عند حلول موسم الشتاء".

وأضاف أنه جرى رصد أكثر من 70 ألف حالة عدوى تنفسية حادة وما يربو على 44 ألف حالة إسهال في القطاع المكتظ بالسكان، مشيرا إلى أن الأعداد أعلى بكثير من المتوقع.
