أستراليا: إجراء استفتاء على تعديل الدستور العام الحالي

أعلن رئيس الوزراء الأسترالي أنتوني ألبانيز، اليوم الخميس، إجراء استفتاء على تعديل الدستور للاعتراف بالسكان الأصليين العام الحالي.

وبحسب وكالة "اسوشيتد برس الأسترالية" قال ألبانيز في مؤتمر صحفي "هذا الاستفتاء فرصة ديمقراطية تاريخية للحظة أسترالية موحدة".

ومن المتوقع إجراء الاستفتاء بين شهري تشرين الأول وكانون الأول من العام الحالي.

ولم يصوت الأستراليون حتى أيار 1967 لتغيير الدستور بحيث يتم احتساب السكان الأصليين وسكان جزر مضيق توريس كجزء من السكان.
