توفي مراسل قناة الجزيرة في تركيا عمر خشرم بعد إصابته بفيروس كورونا. وخيم الحزن على المقر الرئيسي في شبكة الجزيرة ومكاتبها الخارجية على إثر سماع النبأ الأليم.

وكان الراحل يتلقى العلاج بأحد المستشفيات التركية وفارق الحياة اليوم السبت بعد تفاقم حالته الصحية.

ونعى العديد من الإعلاميين زميلهم الراحل عمر خشرم الذي يحتفي سجله بتغطيات مختلفة لا سيما أثناء الأزمة السورية وتواجده في قلب أحداث ساخنة.

ومن أبرز التحديات التي واجهته في مسيرته المهنية إصابته منتصف العام 2012 بشظايا قذيفة سقطت بالقرب منه أثناء تغطيته للأحداث في مدينة حلب السورية.

وحصد المرحوم العديد من الجوائز والتكريمات لمسيرته المهنية الحافلة بالأحداث.

وتحدث عدد من زملاء مراسل الجزيرة المتوفى عن طائفة خصاله ومآثره وتمنوا له الرحمة.
