قالت دائرة الأوقاف الإسلامية العامة وشؤون المسجد الاقصى المبارك في مدينة القدس المحتلة، اليوم الاثنين، إن الحفرة الصغيرة التي تم اكتشافها عند باب المغاربة بالمسجد الأقصى المبارك، هي على الأغلب مسرب لتجمع المياه وتوجيهها في الحرم القدسي الشريف.

وأوضح مستشار الأوقاف للسياحة والآثار يوسف النتشة، في بيان اليوم الاثنين، أن مقاس فتحة الحفرة الواقعة عند باب المغاربة قرب المكتبة والمتحف الإسلامي وغرفة الصوتيات، يصل الى 30 سنتمترا في 40 سنتمترا، وعمقها 70 سنتمترا، وتبعدِ عن الجدار الغربي للمسجد بنحو 4 أمتار، في حين تبعد عن الجدار الجنوبي للمسجد بنحو 12 مترا ، وأن أرضيتها عبارة عن أتربة.
