قرر مجلس الوزراء في جلسته التي عقدها اليوم الاربعاء برئاسة رئيس الوزراء الدكتور هاني الملقي الموافقة على استثناء الاطباء البيطريين العاملين في القطاع العام من الاحالة على التقاعد عند بلوغهم السن القانونية والسماح بتمديد خدماتهم حتى سن الخامسة والستين اسوة باطباء الاختصاص في وزارة الصحة .

وجاء القرار لاهمية مهنة الطب البيطري التي ترتبط ارتباطا مباشرا مع الصحة العامة للانسان بكافة جوانبها وفي ظل وجود نقص حاد في عدد الاطباء البيطريين العاملين في القطاع العام وقلة التعيينات وهجرتهم للعمل في الخارج .
