قال مدير ادارة السير المركزية العقيد ياسر الحراحشة ان حوالي 70 في المائة من حوادث السيارات الطفيفة ناجمة عن استخدلم السائقين لهواتفهم النقالة اثناء القيادة.

في تصريحات لصحيفة الجوردن تايمز قال الحراحشة ان شرطة السير تصدر الآلاف من المخالفات كل يوم لسائقي السيارات الذين يستخدمون الهواتف المحمولة أثناء القيادة، مضيفا ان عقوبة استخدام الهاتف اثناء القيادة هي 15 دينارا والتي اعتبرها منخفضة ويجب زيادتها.

وقال انه في بعض البلدان في المنطقة فان عقوبة استخدام الهواتف النقالة أثناء القيادة يصل الى 100 دينار، مشيرا الى ان الغرامات الكبيرة قد تدفع سائق السيارة للتفكير مرتين قبل تكرار المخالفة.
