في اليوم التاسع من شهر شباط الحالي صادفت الذكرى الرابعة والثلاثون لاستشهاد شهيدة الواجب جلالة المغفور له الملكة علياء.
ففي التاسع من شهر شباط عام 1977 استشهدت المغفور لها الملكة علياء اثناء زيارتها المناطق النائية في محافظة الطفيلة لتفقد أحوال المرضى واحتياجات المواطنين واستشهد معها الدكتور محمد البشير وزير الصحة والمقدم الدكتور مهند الخص من الخدمات الطبية الملكية.
واننا اذ نستذكر مناقب وسجايا المغفور لها الملكة علياء ازاء خدمة الوطن والمواطن ودعمها الحركة النسائية وشؤون المرأة حيث كانت تقف الى جانب زوجها المغفور له الملك الحسين بن طلال طيب الله ثراه وتعينه على حمل امانة المسؤولية وكانت مخلصة له بكل معاني الاخلاص.
رحم الله المغفور لها الملكة علياء واسكنها فسيح جنانه الى جوار الانبياء والصديقين.. وستبقى هذه الذكرى عالقة في اذهان الاردنيين والاردنيات يستذكرونها صباح مساء لأنها شهيدة الواجب.
