اكتشاف اول نجم قليل الكتلة

اعلن فلكيون من جامعة زيوريخ بالتعاون مع فلكيين من بولندا وتشيلي في تقرير نشرته مجلة الفيزياء الفلكية عن اكتشافهم لأول نجم قليل الكتلة في المجموعة النجمية M22.
ويقول العلماء ان وجود النجوم قليلة الكتلة كان حتى الآن في اطار الافتراضات، لكن اكتشاف وجودها في هذه المجموعة النجمية التي تبعد عنا نحو 5ر9 سنة ضوئية يمثل اختراقاً علمياً مهماً، وتبعاً لما يقوله د. فيليب جتزر من جامعة زيوريخ فان اثبات وجود النجوم قليلة الكتلة سيساهم في تفسير كثير من الظواهر الفلكية التي كانت تعزى للمادة المظلمة، والتي لا تعرف طبيعتها حتى الآن.
