أحبطت المنطقة العسكرية الشرقية، فجر الثلاثاء، محاولة تهريب كمية كبيرة من المواد المخدرة بواسطة بالونات موجّهة، بعد رصدها أثناء محاولتها اجتياز الحدود باتجاه الأراضي الأردنية.

وتمكنت وحدات حرس الحدود، ضمن منطقة مسؤوليتها، من رصد البالونات والتعامل معها وإسقاطها داخل الأراضي الأردنية، حيث جرى ضبط المواد المخدرة التي كانت محمله بها، وذلك بالتنسيق مع الأجهزة الأمنية والعسكرية وإدارة مكافحة المخدرات وجرى تحويل المضبوطات إلى الجهات المختصة، لاتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية اللازمة.

وأكدت القوات المسلحة الأردنية جاهزية وحدات حرس الحدود للتعامل مع كافة محاولات التسلل والتهريب، بكفاءة واقتدار، لحماية أمن الوطن واستقراره.
