حث وزير الخارجية البريطاني إد ميليباند الاثنين الشركات والأفراد على عدم المشاركة في مشروع E1 الاستيطاني في الضفة الغربية، محذرا من أن المشاركين في بناء المستوطنات غير القانونية ربما يواجهون عقوبات.

وقال ميليباند في بيان "نهيب بالشركات والأفراد على عدم تقديم عطاءاتهم في مناقصة المشروع E1. عليهم أن يدركوا التبعات القانونية وما يلحق بسمعتهم، بما في ذلك خطر ضلوعهم في انتهاكات خطيرة للقانون الدولي".

وأضاف " أريد أن أكون واضحا مع من يفكرون بالمشاركة في المناقصة: إننا وضعنا صلاحيات جديدة تتيح لنا فرض عقوبات على أشخاص وشركات لهم دور في تشييد مستوطنات غير قانونية، كالمشروع E1".
