قال الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب إن الولايات المتحدة قد "تبيد إيران"، معتبرا أن شن هجمات جديدة عليها أمر ممكن، في وقت قال فيه إن وضع واشنطن بشأن طهران "جيد للغاية" وإن إيران تريد التوصل إلى اتفاق.

وأضاف ترامب أن إيران لا يمكن السماح لها بامتلاك أسلحة نووية، مشيرا إلى أن مقترحها بشأن فتح مضيق هرمز غير كاف، وأن أسعار النفط ستنخفض إلى مستوياتها السابقة بمجرد التوصل إلى اتفاق.

وقال إن الولايات المتحدة تسيطر على مضيق هرمز، وإنها نقلت عبره أكبر كمية من النفط خلال الليلة الماضية، كما نفى التقارير عن وجود نقص في الذخائر الأميركية، مؤكدا أن بلاده تملك كميات كبيرة منها.

وأشار ترامب إلى أن استئناف الهجمات على إيران بعد انتخابات التجديد النصفي الأميركية أمر ممكن.
