أعلن الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين الجمعة أن بلده يدرس الموقف من استئناف المفاوضات بهدف وضع حدّ للحرب في أوكرانيا بعد الهجمات الكثّيفة التي شنتها كييف أخيرا على الأراضي الروسية.

وقال بوتين خلال إحاطة إعلامية في سياق المنتدى الدولي للثقافة في سان بطرسبورغ (شمال غرب) إن "المقترحات بشأن استئناف المباحثات هي فعلا على طاولة البحث... لكن بعد كلّ ما فعلوه (في إشارة إلى الأوكرانيين)، سننظر بعناية في كيفية الردّ".

كما أكد بوتين أن بلاده "لا تستعد لأي نوع من أنواع الصراع مع أوروبا".

واضاف "يقول كثيرون في أوروبا إنهم يترقبون عدوانا من جانب روسيا الاتحادية، مما يفرض عليهم تاليا الاستعداد لخوض معارك أو حرب معها"، مضيفا "أؤكد مجددا أننا لا نستعد لأي نوع من أنواع الصراع مع أوروبا".
