قال الرئيس السوري أحمد الشرع إن بلاده "توحدت من شمالها إلى جنوبها، وتم حصر السلاح، وأعيد بناء المؤسسات الأمنية وبدأت فيها مشاريع الإعمار والاستثمار".

وأضاف الشرع في خطابه أمام الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة اليوم الأربعاء إن الثوابت الوطنية السورية تزيد رسوخا "بقوة القانون وإرادة الشعب"، مؤكدا أن الجولان "سيبقى أرضا سورية، وجميع إجراءات الضم باطلة ملغية بقوة قرار مجلس الأمن 497".

ورفض الشرع "التعديات الإسرائيلية" المتكررة والمستمرة على بلاده، و"محاولاتها الدائمة لفرض الأمر الواقع واعتداءاتها الممتدة في الإقليم إخلالا بالأمن والاستقرار"، مؤكدا التزام بلاده باتفاق فض الاشتباك بين القوات لعام 1974. وقال إن فرصة "السلام التاريخية قائمة لمن أراد العيش بسلام، سلام عادل يحفظ حق الجميع".
