أعرب الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة أنطونيو غوتيريش الجمعة، عن أسفه لرفض الولايات المتحدة منح مسؤولين فلسطينيين، أبرزهم رئيس السلطة الفلسطينية محمود عباس، تأشيرات دخول لحضور اجتماعات الجمعية العامة للمنظمة الدولية الأسبوع المقبل.

وقال المتحدث باسم غوتيريش إن "الأمين العام يعرب عن أسفه العميق لإعلان الولايات المتحدة تمديد العقوبات التي تحرم أعضاء منظمة التحرير الفلسطينية ومسؤولي السلطة الفلسطينية، من المشاركة في اجتماعات الأمم المتحدة".

وكانت الولايات المتحدة أعلنت الخميس، رفضها منح عباس والوفد الفلسطيني تأشيرات دخول، وذلك للعام الثاني على التوالي.

ولن يتمكن سوى أعضاء البعثة الفلسطينية في الأمم المتحدة من حضور الاجتماعات السنوية للجمعية العامة.
