قال سام ألتمان الرئيس التنفيذي لأوبن إيه.آي في تصريحات نشرت أمس السبت إن الشركة لن تنفذ طرحها العام الأولي في 2026.

وأرجع ألتمان ذلك إلى مخاوف تتعلق بالسلامة تجعل حتى وجود احتمال بنسبة 10 بالمئة أن يتسبب الذكاء الاصطناعي في انقراض البشرية بحلول نهاية العقد أمرا "غير مقبول".

وأدلى ألتمان بهذه التصريحات في وقت يحث فيه ‌مزيد من المشرعين الأمريكيين على وضع قواعد تنظيمية جديدة لأنظمة الذكاء الاصطناعي، وذلك بعد تحذيرات شديدة أطلقها باحثان من شركة أنثروبيك المنافسة لأوبن إيه.آي من أن التقدم السريع في الذكاء الاصطناعي قد يؤدي إلى انقراض الجنس البشري في مستقبل غير بعيد.
