أدانت وزارة الخارجية وشؤون المغتربين قيام جمهورية ناورو بفتح سفارة لها في القدس؛ خطوةً مرفوضةً وخرقًا فاضخًا للقانون الدولي وقرارات الشرعية الدولية.

وأكّد الناطق الرسمي باسم الوزارة السفير فؤاد المجالي أنّ أيّ إجراءات أو قرارات تهدف إلى تغيير وضع مدينة القدس أو مركزها القانوني تُعدّ باطلةً وغير شرعية وغير قانونية.

وجدّد المجالي التأكيد أنّ السبيل الوحيد لتحقيق السلام العادل والشامل الذي يضمن الأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة يتمثّل في تجسيد الدولة الفلسطينية المستقلة ذات السيادة على خطوط الرابع من حزيران ١٩٦٧ وعاصمتها القدس الشرقية.
