واصل لاعب المنتخب الوطني للمواي تاي، عمر عوض، اليوم الأحد، تألقه في بطولة العالم للمواي تاي للكبار، والمقامة في كوسوفو، بتأهله إلى المباراة النهائية لمنافسات فئة تحت 24 عاماً لوزن تحت 67 كغم.

ونجح عوض في تخطي بطل العالم الفيتنامي آن كا توان في الدور نصف النهائي، بعد نزال قوي امتد لثلاث جولات، قبل أن يحسمه بالضربة القاضية الفنية في الجولة الثالثة، ليضمن بذلك الميدالية الفضية على الأقل ويواصل سعيه نحو التتويج بالذهب.

وكان عوض استهل مشواره في البطولة بالفوز على بطل العالم البولندي بارتوش بامولا بالضربة القاضية في الجولة الأولى، قبل أن يتخطى الكرواتي روبرت ريزو في الدور ربع النهائي بعد انسحاب الأخير خلال النزال.
