أكدت الرئيسة الفنزويلية بالوكالة ديلسي رودريغيز السبت، أن فنزويلا تحتفظ بالسيطرة على نفطها في الاتفاق الجديد الذي يتيح للولايات المتحدة وصولا كبيرا إلى احتياطيات البلاد.

وقالت رودريغيز في خطاب بثه التلفزيون الرسمي "أمر واحد يجب أن يكون واضحا تماما: فنزويلا تحتفظ بملكية مواردها وسيادتها عليها". وأعلن الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب الجمعة أن إدارته أبرمت أتفاقا نفطيا ضخما مع كراكاس يضمن للولايات المتحدة السيطرة على القسم الأكبر من الاحتياطيات النفطية في فنزويلا بما يقدر باكثر من 65 مليار برميل.
