صدّ الحرس الجمهوري النيجري السبت "متمردين من صفوف القوات المسلحة" حاولوا "دخول القصر الرئاسي" في العاصمة نيامي حيث لا يزال إطلاق النار متواصلا منذ الليل، على ما أفاد مصدر أمني في غرب إفريقيا وكالة فرانس برس.

وسمع إطلاق نار غزير في عدد من أحياء نيامي طوال الليل ولا سيما في وسط المدينة في محيط القصر الجمهوري وفي منطقة المطار الذي يضم قاعدة عسكرية مهمة.

وقطع بث التلفزيون الوطني لأكثر من ساعة صباح السبت قبل استئنافه قرابة الساعة 10,00 (9,00 ت غ).
