أعلن وزير الخزانة الأميركي، سكوت بينست، فرض عقوبات اقتصادية جديدة على طهران، مشيرا إلى أن الهدف منها "قطع كل شريان اقتصادي يبقي النظام الإيراني".

وأوضح بينست، في مؤتمر صحفي اليوم الاثنين، أن هذه العقوبات تطال الذهب وقطاعات التكنولوجيا والطيران والشحن البحري، متوعدا بـ"استبعاد" الدول التي تتيح غسل الأموال الإيرانية " من نظام الدولار.

وأضاف بأن لكل دولة جدول زمني محدد لوقف ‌الأنشطة التي ‌حددتها الولايات المتحدة.

وأردف: "إذا لم ‌تتخذ ‌هذه الدول إجراءات فسنتخذها بشكل أحادي من خلال سلطات وزارة الخزانة".

وقالت وزارة الخزانة الأميركية، في بيان، إنها تفرض عقوبات على ‌ما يقرب ‌من 60 كيانا ‌وشخصا ‌وسفينة مرتبطة بإيران في مجالات الطاقة النووية والصواريخ والفضاء الإلكتروني والنفط.
