أكد مسؤول في حلف شمال الأطلسي، الأربعاء، أن الحلف مستعد للتصدي لأي تهديد، مشددا على أنه «سيفعل دومًا كل ما هو ضروري للدفاع عن جميع الدول الأعضاء».

وقال المسؤول في تصريحات بشأن ما يتردد عن دراسة إيران مهاجمة أهداف أميركية في أوروبا، إن موقف الحلف تجلى عمليًا عندما اعترضت دفاعاته الجوية صواريخ باليستية كانت متجهة من إيران إلى تركيا في أربع وقائع.

وأضاف أن وضع الدفاع والردع لدى الحلف "قوي وفعال" مؤكدا استمرار جاهزية الناتو للتعامل مع أي تهديدات تستهدف دوله الأعضاء.
